Full description
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau (L,D)
7:00 AM – Leave Hanoi early in the morning aboard a comfortable limousine bus and watch the city gradually give way to mountains, farmland and the rural landscapes of northern Vietnam. By late morning, arrive at Mai Chau Eco House, where your hosts welcome you with a drink and a home-cooked lunch prepared with local ingredients.
After checking in and taking some time to settle into your new surroundings, the afternoon is yours to explore. Pick up a mountain bike and the map provided by your hosts, then choose where the road takes you. Pedal between rice paddies and vegetable fields, pass through villages of the local Thai community, or venture farther towards a village stream and waterfall. There is no guide setting the pace and no checklist of sights to complete — stop when something catches your eye and return whenever you are ready.
Back at the Eco House, refresh and settle in as the afternoon light fades over the valley. Enjoy a complimentary sunset drink before sitting down to dinner. Spend the night in the peaceful surroundings of a traditional Thai stilt house.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Hanoi (B, L)
The morning begins slowly with breakfast at the homestay. Take a map and wander through the nearby village and countryside on foot, or simply enjoy some quiet time around the house and take in the rhythm of the valley.
Lunch is served at 11:30 AM before your limousine bus collects you at approximately 1:00 PM for the journey back to Hanoi. You should arrive at Hanoi Opera House at around 5:00 PM. End of our service.
