Discover the history, culture, and countryside of Central Vietnam on a relaxing half-day journey from Hoi An to the ancient My Son Sanctuary. Combine a fascinating visit to the former Champa Kingdom with a hands-on local experience, a delicious homemade lunch, and a scenic boat ride along the Thu Bon River.
Your local English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel in Hoi An and accompany you to My Son Sanctuary. Once there, spend around two hours exploring the ancient temple complex surrounded by green mountains and peaceful forest. Walk among the centuries-old brick towers while your guide brings the history of the Champa Kingdom to life and explains the stories, architecture, and cultural significance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Champa performance, featuring local music and dance that offers a glimpse into the cultural heritage of this fascinating region.
After exploring My Son, continue to a local family home and discover one of Vietnam’s traditional food crafts: rice paper making. Learn how rice paper is prepared and try making your own by hand. It’s a simple but surprisingly fun experience—and you can enjoy the rice paper you make yourself afterward.
Then, slow down and relax at another local home for a delicious homemade Vietnamese lunch. Enjoy fresh local dishes, refreshing herbal tea, and the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside while getting a glimpse into everyday life away from the tourist crowds.
To finish the adventure, board a local boat and cruise along the Thu Bon River, one of the largest and most important rivers in Central Vietnam. Feel the cool breeze, enjoy the beautiful riverside scenery, and watch rural life unfold along the banks as you make your way back toward Hoi An.
You’ll arrive back in Hoi An around 13:00 and be dropped off at your hotel, bringing this memorable journey through history, culture, food, and local life to an end.

You’ll have about 2 hours to discover the site by walking through the landscape, learn histories with our local English-speaking guide, and enjoy the Champa’s traditional performances.
Making Rice Paper
Come to a local house to learn how to make rice paper, you will enjoy your own hand-making product later on!
Lunch Time
Have lunch at another local house, relax with cold herbal tea, nice food, and fresh air.
Boat Trip
Take a boat trip to Hoi An with the nice and cool breeze onboard, and beautiful river scenery on the biggest river in Central Vietnam named Thu Bon River.
